I have a week off in July and want to go somewhere relativeky cheap and easy. Do koreans have such a thing as the "package holiday"? I am not usually a fan of the package holiday but just want something where i can turn up at the airport and dont need to think about anything.

What are the likely locations and prices?

Any info is appreciated.

If you take a Korean Holiday package you will drag Korea along with you.

They are a zoo on wheels. Fully escorted from Incheon until you get back- on the plane, off the plane, on the bus, off the bus, sleep, wake, Korean breakfast, on the bus, off the bus, on the bus, off the bus, korean lunch, on the bus, off the bus, on the bus, off the bus, on the bus, off the bus, Korean dinner, on the bus off the bus, on the bus, off the bus, sleep, repeat for 3 days.

Book a flight to your favorite place to see, go and have fun. You can use English as a communication language in every tourist spot I have been to in east and southeast asia.

Cheap and EASY without visa worries would include: Thailand, the Philippines, Hongkong/Macau, Indonesia, and Malasia.

If you don't mind taking the time to get a visa you can include: Vietnam, China (Shanghai and/or Beijing).

Lots of cheap Korean packages for Thailand and the Philipines. As one poster noted though, if you take a Korean package be prepared to eat Korean food, drink Korean drinks, and do Korean tours. i.e. "look here. it's old. it's nice. let's move along. quickly. quickly!"

Many Korean packages will not allow foreigners to join. You do not want to go on a Korean package tour. Book a flight to Taiwan or Hong Kong anf just do it on your own, it's so much better. Smile

Do what I did with my family. Book a Korean tour and ditch them.
I told the tour guide we were going out on our own about 4 times. The first night we got back to our hotel there were a bunch of messages for us.

Are you OK?
Did you get lost?
Are you in the hospital?

I told the hotel dude to kindly tell them to F-off.

True. My former manager told me I should just do a package tour to get airfare, hotel, and meals included. She said it is cheaper, easier, and I can ditch them once we arrive. But, this is what I would fear. You will get pestered as in your case here. Rolling Eyes I don't take a trip to be pestered.

My God go to Hawaii. The outlet stores and the malls are stacked with Koreans buying all the LV and A+F they can. The girls have boxes of stuff bought by mommy or sugar daddy and the poor boys buy one thing and ask for 20 shopping bags so they can bring them home to carry their lunches for the whole year. Its hilarious.

Exactomundo. And if you want a cheap vacation, Korean package tours to Bali and Saipan are good (as long as you go only for the cheap air and hotel). Ditch them and go scubadiving or whatever, and eat the local cuisine. You would never do something like that if you stuck with the group.

goto Japan. Its right next door and an exclusive trip from your home country would cost a million dollars.
