Actually, phonetically speaking and not withstanding the misplaced inclusion of a C instead of a K, that is the correct phonetic way to spell phonetic. I think the OP was illustrating a point.

That's an interesting article. I heard a radio programme recently whereby this guy spoke about the decline in handwritten correspondence over the increasing use of emails, texts and so forth.

He came up with a word for this trend:
Caligration

I agree with this statement. It does make sense to have different levels of language spelling depending on where you use it. Cellphone text message spelling and internet chat spelling are systems designed within a specific domain, but I think the main point to be concerned about is the broad sense of spelling.

I have been teaching for 7 years now and my experience in Korea showed me that communication is the most important factor. The ability to make people understand you is very important. Simplifying English spelling will help many people to learn the language in a shorter amount of time.

I think language is something that needs to change over time or it will die a slow death.
