Here is the situation. My computer could could not connect to the internet and it said my static IP was changed. The internet was down for 2 days. The technician came to the building and reconfigured my computer back to the old IP. I could have done that. He said that there were 2 gateways and that someone in the building somehow put the computers on a bad gateway? They are looking to see where this originated from. How can someone on a network be successful with such changes unless they were the administrator? He said the network now has 2 gateways??? It was in very broken English, but his English is better than my Korean. I am still confused about his meaning, but am quite curious as to what really happenned. |

Do you have router between your PC and your Modem?
You should consider a router that would protect your computer.

What kind of building do you live in?
I once lived in a small building full of one rooms and the internet essentially was controlled by the building owner who lived on the top floor. If he fuzzed the connection somehow, the whole building suffers. |
