Here's a happy memory. Post yours.
- An ajumma once approached me with a beaming smile. She noticed that I was picking up the odd seashell on Haeundae Beach. So, comparisons were made between what we both gathered. |

Was down in Wando a couple of years ago. We had no idea it was Chuseok or what that even was because we were new to Korea. An Ajjuma at the motel brought us a complete spread of food from her Chuseok feast because she was worried many restuarants would be closed and we needed to eat. Great lady for sure. |

I remember I was pretty sick of going on this field trip with other teachers. Not that I disliked anything about the trip itself I was just tired from the night before. It got to the end of the day and it was a hike. We sat down and this old rusty shack all the teachers and it was the most ghetto place on the planet.
Shanty roof, dog tied with rope, no running water anywhere. We ate some kimchi pancakes on a side of a mountain. Everyone was smiling and everyone was happy. Even though I couldn't speak to anyone, I don't have a better memory of having so little yet with so much.
The owner sat beside me and tried to communicate about the history of the mountain. Of course the English co-teachers translated but I felt I could understand him without it.
Most spiritual moment of my life. |

Sitting outside drinking and eating the first warm night of the spring. Feeling like I had a wonderful evening and spending 10 bucks |

I had an ajossi come up to my coworkers and I last week and thank us for our country's sacrifice of 50,000 lives. |

It didn't happen as often as I would like it to, but intimate moments with the K-ladies sure do make for happy memories.
