If you quit a public school job...and they refuse to issue a letter of release...what are the options with an f2-1 visa? |

Why do you need a letter of release....give legal notice and quit. |

If you are F2, you do not need a letter of release because you are NOT cancelling or changing your visa or your visa sponsor.
Your wife is your sponsor and NOT your employer.
Just quit and enjoy life. |

Your options? Only one option. Walk out the door, wave the finger at them, and don't look back. |

been there done that. You quit, walk away and laugh when they call you after summer vacation wondering why you skipped the presemester meeting. |

Give legal notice if you have a contract....you live here and are responsible for your contracts. If the contract is finished..then walk out the door with the finger held up. Having the F2-1 or F5 visa means it could be a little difficult for you to just move back to home...don't burn bridges. |
