If you quit a public school job...and they refuse to issue a letter of release...what are the options with an f2-1 visa?

Why do you need a letter of release....give legal notice and quit.

If you are F2, you do not need a letter of release because you are NOT cancelling or changing your visa or your visa sponsor.

Your wife is your sponsor and NOT your employer.

Just quit and enjoy life.

Your options? Only one option. Walk out the door, wave the finger at them, and don't look back.

been there done that. You quit, walk away and laugh when they call you after summer vacation wondering why you skipped the presemester meeting.

Give legal notice if you have a contract....you live here and are responsible for your contracts. If the contract is finished..then walk out the door with the finger held up. Having the F2-1 or F5 visa means it could be a little difficult for you to just move back to home...don't burn bridges.
