I have had three of those American Beauty plastic bag moments in Seoul, all three when looking out of windows or balconies having a smoke.

The first was from the roof of my apartment block, a small kite flying amongst the buildings. The second occurred when I was on a balcony in Yongin. Two white doves came from nowhere and hovered about 2 meters from me for what seemed like ages, but was probably only a few seconds.

The third just happened. One of those aluminium, helium filled, plastic balloons, pink and heart shaped come from behind my building, and floated across my field of view. It dropped out of sight for a while, and then soared up again. All sorts of metaphors sprang to mind, but I will let you see your own.

I love those moments.

I know what you mean. Those are cool moments.

One of them I had that stuck in my mind was riding out in the country around dusk and my friend and I saw three boys walking through the harvested rice fields, swinging tin cans with little holes in them and fire inside. It was one of those "Wow! I'm not in Kansas" moments.
