I peeped this over the WE and have to say this was a major waste of time. The only good thing about it was that it was so tedious it made the most seemingly normal things - subway signage etc...seem really interesting for a period of at least 3 hours after the movie

a major disappointment from danny boyle after 28 days

i have to disagree with you!

i though the film was good and refreshing for a sci-fi flick!
it has a cast of about 7 and nothing else but space and vacuum.
the tension. psychology, and emotions was what drew me.
ofcourse if you were looking for action, things blowing up, etc. it was sub-par!
which is why it was so refreshing as a sci-fi flick.
just like his zombie flick was so differenet for the genre!

anyway...

Well it was written by the same guy who wrote 28 Days Later. You two have me intrigued... will investigate further.

alex garland also wrote the novel - The Beach which was a great read but also filmed unsuccessfully by Boyle

one thing about Sunshine was that it looked great but seemed content to wallow in clich and the referencing of classics in the genre which i guess is supposed to be cool but isn't when you've got a story which is just plain stupid and not at all compelling from the get go
