Ok.........hmmm........well, there were about 4 events during this day that just made it quite challenging.

...worthless Korean homeroom teachers who just don't want to help out and try and make this a good program.

.....me feeling worthless, because I just have lost passion for teaching 40 kids in a class, 22 different times a week.

....me turning in my notice to my counterpart, and having him laugh about it when I left. Although, he did show a look of worry when I said I'll have one of my Korean friends translate it for me, instead of him. That way, I can bypass the counterpart and give it directly to the principle; without any "misunderstandings", or "misscommunications" as to why I am leaving.

Ok, now for the fourth event. I was walking home, feeling like shite. Out of nowhere, this Korean man walks aroudn the corner, quite aggressively. It seems as if he is about to reach for me, and I smack his hand back.....mainly out reflex, and that he scared the crap out of me.

He then startes calling me an a-hole in Korean, so I walk off. Then, he proceeds to follow me...getting closer. So, do I just keep walking and have this guy potentially jump me from behind, following me to my apartment (just down the road)? Well, after the day I had, I thought..."Hell with it. The last time I tried to walk away, a Korean spit in my face. Not this time. I'm getting deported".

So, I turn around, take off my back pack, and stand there, ready to go. He starts mumbling, and swearing and is gradually getting closer. He tries to crab me, so I swat his hand away........then, out of nowhere, the police run in.........................

......I'm standing there, bracing myself for a beatdown. But, they pass me and take down the Korean guy. So, I take out my ARC, hold it out in case they wanted to see it....no interest. Shop owners come walking out, and tell me "I'm sorry..I'm sorry...soju".....................Ah...yes...soju.

They see me walking by there every morning and every night, and I'm happy to know that they realize I was not starting trouble........lucky for me.

I genuinelly feel for you fella. Are you leaving Korea? I know you've had a rough time recently. Perhaps a break from the 'land of the morning calm' is required. Can't say much more to you fella, apart fom all the best.

Cheers The Charge

Well it could have been much worse...the police could have questioned you. I understand the feeling of being burnout...that's exactly why I decided against staying another year.

If your really at a point where you have to get out, then do it. Your mental health is more important in the long run.

Sorry you had a bad day. I know how it feels - like you could cope better with it if you could just have a day at home. I am done here in 7 weeks and now I spend all my time thinking about things like beef dinners and houses with gardens. Chin up.

Yep..........time for a break. And I don't mean somewhere in Asia. It is time to go home, see friends/family and reconnect.

I am still surprised the police paid me no mind. The station is just 50 yards down the road, which explaines how they got there so quick. But, there were 4 of them...bam! Out of nowhere.

I actually kind of feel bad. This guy may have just been trying to ask me a question (though, he kept asking if I was in the military). But, when you appear out of nowhere around a corner and scare the crap out of someone, it can have consequences.

Poor guy, the soju did not do him justice today.

Andy,

You and me both. I can't wait for some decent Mexican food. I'm driving people nuts counting down the days.

If it were only tomorrow....

I've got gravy and I don't want it!

I asked Mummy to bring some when she visited me and she brought too much. What I have is two unopened 300g Bistos - one chicken and one "favorite", best before dates January 2008.

So what will the bidding start at?

Counting down the days! You know you shouldn't because you're wishing your life away and it doesn't make the time go faster.

However, I have a calendar at my desk and I stare at it all the time.

I have even started crossing off the days. The Korean teachers have noticed but they don't say anything.

I only really like Coogan in Partridge guise but I did watch "A night at the museum" recently and his brief role was passable. Watching "A beep and bull story" is one of many things I will do when I go home and have no job.

There I go thinking about home again....
