I have a couple of friends who use SK credit phones. They don't post here so I'm gonna ask a question on their behalf.
Apparently, the 10,000 won cards they use to put call credit on their phones are being used up really quickly. As in 10,000 won for 30 minutes call time. This is a new problem as the call credit lasted a hell of a lot longer before.
Anybody have any idea what's going on? |

10000 for thirty minutes sounds about right. I've been using an SK card phone for two years and I haven't noticed any change.
like KJJ said, though, I always text. I put 20000 on two months ago, have been sending lots of texts every day since then, and still haven't used up all my money. |

Thanks for the reply people.
It's a strange one.....both my friends are adamant that they are getting a greatly reduced calltime for their man won, hmmm. |

I don't know if SK changed their rules, but with some calling cards, if you talk for just 30 seconds, it counts as one minute, etc.
Maybe SK changed the way they bill for calls (rounding up, etc.).
That could be a possibility. If you make several short calls, maybe you're not getting what you used to get. |

Instead of putting 20,000 a month on a pre-pay phone, why not buy a phone and get regular service?
I had a card phone for 3 years, and I am sorry I did not do this earlier. The used card phone cost 70,000 won.
I just bought a new phone at SK. It came with a 1.3 mega pix. camera. (I did not even care about the camera, I have a good one.) The phone cost 50,000 won. They had other phones for 20,000, but I liked the display on this one.
The service will cost 16,000 per month. I had to pay a 200,000 deposit, and a 55,000 set up fee. The deposit I will get back.
If I cancel the service before 6 months I will have to pay 360,000 for the phone. I certainly will not cancel that soon.
I am sure there are better deals out there, but I needed a phone. |

You were not lied to, perhaps they just did not know.
My phone is SK. As I said, you have to pay a deposit, and a set up fee. The deposit you will get back.
Just bring your alien card and a Korean. |
