I live there.

There isn't a lot to do here but there is a big arse mountain.

It's very easy to get to Seoul from Hanam.
There are many buses which take between 30 band 40 mins depending on traffic which go to Jamsil and Gangbyeon subway stations.

Hanam is fine. It's only a 30 min bus ride to Jamshil. Takes the same time to get to Itaewon as it does from Hongdae. 45 mins to Gangnam etc...

The air is clean, lots of mountains, riverside walks etc.

Food is good.

Not great for socialising but, like I said, Seoul is close. Only 30,000 for cab home from Hongdae after midnight at wkends...

Once you meet a few other foriegn people here (you see us walking around from time to time...) just say hi and I'm sure you'll make some local friends...

Not a bad place to be honest, has a nice rural feel to it but is close to the city.

Great Very Happy How many teachers are in the area?
Is there a place where everyone hangs out?
So it is not on the subway system? How far is the nearest station?

There seem to be around 20-30 foriegn teachers. I'd say just over half socialise in Hannam.

The nearest subway stop is Gangdong I think. It's a ten minute bus ride.

Not many hang out spots, but groups of friends find their own reular spots I guess, like anywhaere else. But no foriegner bars like Ilsan or bundang...

If you come here, hey give me a pm, if you're not an axe murderer or pervo, I'll take you out for a beer.
