Interesting (well, fairly interesting in a nothing-better-to-do anal type of way) programme on BBC radio 4 last night about elocution. Not really that useful from an ESL teaching perspective, but I thought it might be interesting for those of you who are generally interested in the English language.
You can listen again here
Click the 'Listen to the latest edition' link on the right hand side of the page anytime over the next 7 days.
The part on elocution starts about 10-minutes into the 30-minute programme. The last 5/10-minutes is interesting/funny as well, especially if you're a Christian.
It's usually a good programme in a humourous and informative kind of way. Next weeks show sounds good as well - Do Americans care about the English Language more than we do ?
They're also running a competition at the moment called Twenty First Century Proverbs, which asks listeners to post their funny and contemporary variations of popular proverbs. |

Thanks for posting- seriously. Since we're all "supposed" to be college graduates, it's nice to see a post about gray matter. |
