At work I use a Korean IBM R40 (notabook), the cursor clicks whatever it is pointing at after a certain length of time!

How can I stop this annoying feature?

There is a tapping option, which accepts quick taps as a select button.
With my finger moving over the mouse-pad, it recognised small movements as taps.
So it selected, and now I know it looks to be a good function!
