Ok, so I got here in Nov. So onmy ARC it says that it expires in Nov 2007, which makes sense. But my visa in my passport expired in Feb 2007, wtf??
Shouldnt my visa expire in Nov 2007 as well? It says period of sojurn 1Y which I assume is 1yr, yet it only was for about 4 months. I dont understand this...
Can someone clue me in ...Thanks |

| Oh ok, so the visa doesnt matter. I have to leave when my arc expires. If I leave the country can I still get back in though? |

What the first reply is saying is that the date on the e2 is not the expiry date of the E2 visa - but the amount of time that you have after that visa has been issued to actually enter the country, to enter Korea. It is then valid for 1 year from then. If you read the E2 closely you will see that the date says "Final Entry Date" If yours is like mine then the visa will have been stamped when you entered the country with the date of entry and stamped again when you were issued with your ARC.

hmmm...I know it was stamped when I entered, but not too sure if it was stamped when I got my arc...
oh well, sounds fine. I was worried. Guess now I just have to go get a multiple entry permit...

Mine is not like yours. It says "Expiry Date". There is a stamp dated about the time I got my arc and my entry stamp is on another page.
I'm pretty sure you are supposed to leave the country before the expiration
date on the visa or request an extension. |

Mine is a multiple so that might be the difference. |

The visa is your permission to enter and describes how long your permitted period of soujourn is.
Your period of sojourn begins with your entry stamp.
It will expire on the date indicated on your ARC. You must leave the country by that date (or get an extension).
The Calendar dates on the physical visa only indicate issue and final date of initial entry. |
