My power brick fizzled out over the weekend. Can I buy another here in Korea? Are there ones available that fit all notebooks or will I have to get noe from Compaq? How much do they run? |

I don't think there is a universal brick. Each laptop maker seems to have its own brick-to-laptop plug connector. But I could be wrong. You can bet a new one at the Compaq A/S center (at Yongsan, not the new space 9/Ipark mall but the old one attached via the walkway).
My lifebook one ran about 70,000 won. |

In the old blue building that is attached to Yongsan station via the pedestrian overpass above the railroad yard you will find them.
It should cost in the neighborhood of 35-50k won. |

I picked up a powercord generic brand that works for my laptop. it cost 28,000 (some shops 40,000) and has multiple ends that fit on, so you could use it with multiple devices.
When buying your powercord bring your laptop and check the electrical specs (volts and amps) for the cord and your laptop should match.
It is true that some manufacturers make proprietory power cords in which case you would be screwed. |
