Basically, I'm just after info about where is good to go for a relaxing/romantic beach holiday. I only have 9 days, and PH is not too far away. I have done some research on the net about places to go and see, but I'm really after first hand experiences along with gems of places to see that are not on the normal tourist sites. Even recommendations on really good friendly mid-range hotels whould be deeply appreciated. |

9 days, mid budget...
Use Cebu as a base to venture out from. Good air (cheap domestic) and ferry connections to everywhere.
Arrive in cebu (direct flight from Incheon gets in at 2am) and spend the 1st night at the Bella vista hotel. $60, 5 minutes from the airport and courtesy (FREE) pickup and free buffet breakfast.
Next morning stop in at J-J travel agent across the street from Gaisano Mactan mall. (out the door of the hotel. turn right and walk for about 10 minutes.) Talk to Flora. She will work hard to get you Filipino pricing instead of tourist pricing.
Book a flight and hotel on Camiguin ($200 or less) 2 night 3 day.
Book a flight and hotel on Boracay ($200 or less) 2 night 3 day.
-Go to Camiguin. Spend a day or 2 there. Enjoy the volcano and a tour around the island. The hot springs are nice. Back to Cebu.
-Catch the flight to Boracay and spend a couple nights on white beach. Back to Cebu.
-Take the ferry to Tagbilarn on Bohol island. Catch a jeepney or trike out to Alona beach. Stay in the Alona Tropical resort. A hut on the beach is about $30 per night including breakfast.
4 islands, 9 days and a nice package for less than $750 + your plane to the PH.
You can get away a bit cheaper but this is a nice package in the mid range and hits some of the highlights in the central island region.
If you stick to Cebu and Bohol you can do 9 days for about $500 + airfare to the PH. |
