This is for a friend:

She took a job far, far away without researching how long it would take to get there. The commute is too much, and the company she works for is shady (Fake bank account, all that). She wants out. She has done the Visa run to Japan, has the stamp in the passport, but hasn't been to Immi. to get the ARC yet. If she just lets the 60 days on the visa expire, what happens? Is she still tied to her employer? Could she just get paid for her 60 days and disappear, coming back in on a new tourist visa? Or would she need an LOR based on the contract she signed?

Bear in mind, please, that these are not my actions and that we are rarely able to influence those around us to see the world through our eyes.

Post the contract, so we can look for the loopholes.

I know that she has 90 days to get to immigration after the visa run to get her ARC so i would imagine if this doesn't happen then it is void and cancelled...

I don't think she would need a LOR then but with immigration who knows....

maybe somebody who has been through the experience can answer your question more directly...

Once she has the visa stamp in her passport, she is tied. Been there.

Not getting the card is justification for a fine along along with not giving the address of residence. The visa is done and the person will need to jump through the hoops now to get out of it.

I think if you leave the country before you have your ARC your VISA is nulled.

Or it stays on the books until the school cancels it or the time expires. More likely the the boss who got the visa for the teacher has to cancel it.
