So my friend is coming (probably) to teach here in South Korea in a few weeks. As part of the guidelines, he will have to take a pee test to make sure he is 'clean' in early September. He 'smoked' two times during two consecutive days three weeks ago, and has not done it for a year or so prior to that. What are the chances he might test positive? This would get him sent home and cost a ton. Any thoughts or advice? He really wants to come, but yeah maybe wasn't the best decision. Is it worth the risk, or is this just overworrying?

Pee test in early September?

You'll be fine. Takes a month tops to clear it out of your system, usually shorter if you're not a chronic smoker. Sounds like when you take the pee test it will have been 1.5-2 months since you smoked.

Don't worry.

don`t have any idea myself but just doing a internet search on various sites say it can be in your system anytime between 3 - 30 days depending on a variety factors. Might be okay but a stupid thing to have a toke if he knew in advance he`d have to do a drug test!

He's fine.
Tell him to drink lots of water and some shots of apple cider vinager. Its good for the body and will give him some peace of mind.

Did he sign a special contract stating he had to take a drug test so quickly? You must get your ARC within 90 days, that includes submitting drug and AIDS tests. Unless he signed an agreement to take the test earlier for the school, he doesn't have to. Sure, fighting it can be a pain, but legally he is correct.

They don't test for cannaboids anymore. Consult the immigration website, not dave's.

Chronic stoners always find a way to *beep* up sooner or later. If potheads actually spent time planning ahead of time for situations like this, who knows? they may actually turn into respectable members of society one day.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I could list you hundreds of respectable members of society who smoke. Many doctors, lawyers, police officers and yes, even politicians smoke. They simply don't talk about it because of ignorant people like you who think that pot is a "gateway" drug. Millions of people smoke, and do not go on to anything harsher. Those that do, would have gone on to more elicit drugs anyway, as it was in their nature to do so.

To the OP. If you are concerned about a pee test, have one before you come over, or tell your friend to.

They're coming to the right country for not planning ahead.
