Sorry to post this again. Stupid poll options tricked me...or I'm just stupid. Also added a little more age range.
the Question:
Do you prefer teaching Elementary School aged children, Middle School aged kids, High School agers, college age students or plain old adults?
What are some strengths and weaknesses of each age range?

Someone asked me in the plaza the other day if I would sell him marijuana. |

That Chinese soju is a mean lush.
I've been tempted to fake orgasms on several occasions. |

I prefer high school. This being my first job in Korea, I think I will stay another year or two at my school. The students are great, well behaved, and pleasant to be around. |

The answer is entirely a personal preference, and no one can answer for anyone else, so it doesn't really help anyone else...but here goes:
Adults are the most gratifying to teach because they actually have something to say when they finally learn to speak.
Who in their right mind wants to spend 8 months teaching someone to speak English just so you can engage in the following conversation:
Me: So, what did you do this weekend?
THEM: I slept.
Me: Is that all? Did you do ANYTHING else?
THEM: I played a computer game.
(What is not said: I went to a family meeting and we decided not to contribute money to Cousin Min-Suk's college education because his dad didn't contribute to Grandpa's triple by-pass heart surgery and he died but what really hurt was that 'they' wouldn't agree to register Suck-Mi's name in the family register because they don't like the sound of it, so Suck-Mi is not really a member of our family although he looks exactly like Uncle Suck-Min who is the scandal of the family because he kidnapped a woman and then married her, but she is a wash-out because she won't get up at 5 AM so she can take care of her mother-in-law so the family wants him to divorce her, but he won't because she is good in bed.) |

I prefer elementary school because they haven't decided that they're too cool to talk yet. |

I'm torn between middle school and elementary school. Elementary students have a ton of energy and are fast learners. But my favorite lesson plans are the ones I can do with middle school students. High school students are either obnoxious or totally quiet. |

6th grade is probably my favorite. 5th grade and middle school are both OK, but younger than that drives me insane and older than that isn't horrible but 6th grade has a good level of enthusiasm and maturity without too much jaded obnoxiousness or having had all of the personality squeezed out of them by the Korean educational system. |

Wow, totally opposite for me. I taught public elementary for 2 years, and couldn't stand 6th graders for the most part. I loved the 4th-5th graders though. |
