My friend will be visiting Korea soon and wants to rent a mobile phone. Are there places to rent a phone in Seoul, or is renting the phone at the airport the only option? |

Recently I had a family member rent a cell phone from Incheon airport. The cheapest rate you can get is with KTF at 2000 won a day for the handset - if you sign up with tour2korea.com and reserve a phone through their site.
Not sure how much text messages were, but call rates were 110won/10 seconds. We mostly communicated by texts though.
The phone was an Anycall slide phone, with English menu. The reservation confirmation took at least a week though, which was a pain. Don't know why it took so long.
I don't know if you can rent a phone from anywhere else other than the airports. |

my parents were here recently and I got them a phone at the airport. There was no "reservation confirmation" like one of the previous posters mentioned. And incoming calls are free, so it's not a bad deal. |
