I have just one more question on the visa topic:

I am on an E-2 visa sponsored by education office.

When I apply for F2-1 will the E-2 be canceled? and then my spose becomes the sponsor?

tks

The F5 isn't automatic after 2 years on an F2, but it is a requisite for the F5. You still have to show that you're worth the permanent residency.

Obviously different for women - I was explicitly told that I would automatically be given an F5 after I had had my F2 for 5 years (5 years ago that was the rule, they changed it recently). Anyway, I got my F5 with no hurdles to cross.
