Trying to figure out where a good place to go with a NNS husband could be. We want to get out of Peru and South America and are looking at Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Many people have recommended Taiwan, Japan and Korea. So my question is, what do you think of Korea as a place to settle down in and raise a family? Is it doable? Financially, we're used to scrimping and saving. And hopefully will be making some property investments to help support us as well.

Any thought?

NNS - Non Neanderthal Spouse?

NNS - Never Never Serious

NNS - Not Nearly Spacious

Oh, I get it, Non Native Speaker.

Yes Korea is a wonderful place to raise a family. What language does the other half speak? You may find opportunity for other language education as well.

Good luck.

Spanish. So we could survive in Korea? Have kids and still be able to save a bit?

If your SO is qualified to teach (i.e. have a university degree or higher) university, then look into teaching a HUFS - Hankook University of Foreign Studies. The current president is a spanish major and they have quite a thriving spanish department...

That way you can both be working.

Depending on the number of children you have - you can survive, mostly because of the free housing!
