Believe it or not i heard its expensive. Nice but expensive... Bring your wallet. Koreans are muppets and they all travel to the JeJu and on the island are more Koreans looking to fleece them.
Good luck

It isn't expensive, no more than the rest of Korea and it is quite lovely....just stay in the love motels/yoegwans/minbaks,etc and you will be fine....
I have been twice...2 weeks in total and have been all over the island.
Since nobody else will help you here are some recommendations
You will experience jeju much better by renting a car.....the island is easy to get around and driving is really good on jeju...
GENERAL
*Hallasan - This mountain dominates Jeju. Give it a good day to climb to the top and back...
*beaches- while it isn't Thailand, jeju does have some very nice beaches all over the island(once you get out of jeju and Seogwipo)
NORTHERN part
*Jeju City - good for walking around on the coastline....
*Yongduam Rock - not sure what all the fuss is about but apparently it looks like a dragon...one of those places that is over-rated but fun to check out anyway
*Jeju Folk and National museums- while not for everyone, i really like museums and are a good way to learn about the islands...
*Jeju love land - all i can say is bizarre...something you will never ever forget. pretty fun place...
*Mystery road - watch yourself roll uphill, really trippy.
EASTERN part
*Udo island - really really nice island which you can walk around
*Seongsan Ilchulbong - the Korean sunrise peak...nice walk and good views..
*Manjanggul Cave - if you have never been to a cave this one is a good one to start off at
*Cool maze - don't know the name exactly but it is just down the road(like 500 metres) from the cave and was a good laugh.
*Mini World - see all of the world monuments in miniture. a good stop off place to have lunch...
SOUTHERN part
*Jeju folk Village - similar to the one near suwon....a village like how it used to be.
*Jeongbang Falls - apparently the only waterfall that falls into the ocean(not sure if this is true though). The day I went it had pissed down rain that morning so it was tumbling in. Very awesome but could suck with no recent rain.
*Cheonjeyeon Falls - a little more scenic and a nice place to have lunch....
*Marado - take a boat to the southern most part of Korea. Didn't do much for me but my girlfriend got really excited....she loved it.
WESTERN part
*hallim Gardens - really good, got botanical gardens, a big cave, a rock garden and a little folk village....an all-in-one kind of place you could come to if you only had a day or two.
*Hammels Ship - a bit tacky but intersting all the same.
That is about all i can remember of the top of my head...there may be more things to see and do but that should be a good guide... |

Yes. Get a ticket refund and go to SE Asia. You will spend about half the money in SE Asia as you will on Jeju...not to mention it's so cold and windy on Jeju during the winter, going outdoors is almost out of the question. |

Good lord, I hope you don't mean going now. It will be too cold to enjoy anything. Go to Thailand on a cheapie ticket, and enjoy Jeju in the springtime or fall.
Jeju was alright; that's all I'll give it. It's pretty and the fall weather is pleasant. It's still Korea; you'd better like seafood because that's all you're getting.

Yes, but with the money you will save on hotel, food, and everything else, you will get that money back in just a few days. And the weather is much nicer. You could even go to the beach. Jeju isn't that nice in winter. Contrary to what Koreans try to tell you, it is NOT "the Hawaii of Korea." |

Every place is what you make of it...you can have a great time in a shitty place and a shitty time in a great place. it all depends on circumstances and your mindset going in.
While I agree jeju is no Hawaii(or even thailand) it does have its charms and I would highly recommend going. |

I like Jeju, too. I've been there many times. What I meant to say is that it's not warm all year round (like Hawaii is). |

I paid 23,000 for the 3-hour ferry from the mainland.
I paid 25,000 won for a nice room in a new love motel in Seogwipo.
I paid 130,000 won for a 48-hour new car rental.
It was an incredibly cheap trip. And lovely in June.
The food and gas prices weren't much more than elsewhere either, though entry fees to museums and sites varied from cheap to expensive.
It can be cheap or expensive. Do your homework, on the 'net and by talking to others who've gone, and you'll be able to do it cheap but nice. |

I really liked Jejudo when we went, especially in Jung-moon.
It was our mini-honeymoon, though, so I guess things were a bit more rosy when you were in love.. |
