|
|
I may have finally found a way to get out of the hell whole that is my school. It involves me leaving my school/contract exactly 2.5 months early.
The switch would be with another public school in the same city and literally right down the street.
Anyone ever done this, heard of something like this, or have any educated guesses as to what I might be able to expect if the 'transfer' process goes through? Keeping in mind my VP hates and is actively trying to make me leave, but I have a feeling his petty ass will try to force me to stay once he hears I have somewhere to go... |

Letters of agreement from two school principals and a contract ammendment (1 page note signed by you and your VP and the new principal) and a quick trip to immigration with the NEW school representative (probably your co-teacher) will get it all solved. Simple transfer without extension.
If you are extending with the new school, indicate the new dates on the contract extension.
60k won for the change of employer and 30k more if there is an extension involved as well. |

Well if your old school goes along with it then no problem I think you just get an extension on your visa.
But if your old school doesnt agree to this...fat chance because you would need a letter of release from them to get a new visa. |

I thought you had to leave the country if you changed employer.
Does this only apply if it's part way through a contract? |

He's not changing the employer though...the employer for a public school is the government.
Only if the public school hired him privately would that apply. |

Thats correct as far as I understand. It would technically be the same employer as long as its the same Dept of Education. |

So that means as long as I transfer to a new school withing the GEPIK area then I won't need to do a visa run? |

I would like to know info about this too. When I renew my contract, I wanna work at the Middle School right next to the school I'm at now. They don't have a native teacher and they've expressed interest in acquiring me. |
