Where and how can I buy contact lenses in Korea? Generally I do the 1-800-contacts to order even from abroad. But thinking that eye glasses are so cheap, perhaps I can replace my contact lenses fairly cheaply as well.
Anyone have any leads? |

I go to a local optometrist to buy Bausch & Lomb daily disposables. It runs me about 60,000 Won a month. If you want to get weekly or monthly disposables, you can find for less. I'm just too fed up with the whole cleaning ordeal to bother. The eye exam I had in the same shop was clocked at under 2 minutes.
Look or ask around for you nearest optometrist, I'm sure that you'll find what you need.

I bought a pair of glasses and contacts, about 2 years ago, for 180,000 won. Still wearing those contacts. Just go to the local eyeshop and buy them. |

I know a good optician guy who can give you a super deal, when you refer to my name. I got a bunch of eye glasses done for somewhere between 20,000 and 40,000 won per pair (frames+nornal lenses). The price can go up if your prescription is high. His prescriptions was very accurate too.
The name of the store: France Optician
Tel: 754-3010
It is located in the underground shopping mall in Myeongdong area.
PM me for more details. |

Accu-vues are 1-2 week silicon-coated disposables, they dont get much thinner. Perfect for people with eye problems or those who don't want to bother with weekly protein removal on longer wear contacts. I've been using them for about 6 years now and would highly recommend them. Unfortunately the great deals to be had on glasses in Korea don't apply to contact lenses- they are of a comparable price to what I pay in Canada when you factor in the taxes. |

I just got some today. Cost me 32,000 per box. They are the Johnson and Johnson daily disposable ones, thats basically all they had. I wanted monthly ones. i just took the packets from my last set of contacts in, and thier were absolutely no problems at all. Which i find a little worrying.
Next time, i will get my mum to send some from home. I can get a 6 month supply for less than the cost of 2 months of daily disposables here. This way i will also know that they are exactly the type that my eyes need.
A new Korean english teacher has just started, and she said that I look so much better without my glasses. Granted they are large Lisa Loebish ones, but i didn't think they were that hideous. I guess I'll stick to the contacts for a while. |

I'm looking for Acuvue Advance or any other Silicone Hydrogel lenses. Silicone Hydrogels are by far the most comfortable lenses I've worn. |

I have a heavy RX and my eyes are very sensitive, so I order from the States (cheaper than buying them here).
I've used a couple of places, but I'm using Lens.com now because the other places don't carry my RX any more.
(Yeah... I'm just shy of white cane status) |
