When this subject is examined on TV, I get blue and pissed off. So tired of hearing the politicians say that they have a program that's going to slow down global warming. They say this while China is trying to build up its economy and India is trying to join the game too.
How can global warming be seriously tackled when other countries want to join the capitalist game? Can we convince countries to adopt more ecologically friendly forms of development?
What do you think? |

| i fhumans are to persist on the earth... a total overhaul in thinking is required- away from a short term abuse of our environment- and towards a respectful living with our planet and all the varied lifeforms on it. |

Life will continue to exist on Earth. Humans might not. It certainly won't be the first time that ol' mother earth has eaten her children when they've gotten unruly.
But seriously, I'm beginning to wonder if national governments ought to better spend their resources (in the interests of their own national populations) preparing their populations for global warming as opposed to wasting them trying to fight it. It's sad I know.
I think the answer will lie in part with changing human attitudes towards waste and better technologies. Both have great potential. Can we change things for the better?

"Environmentalists for Nuclear Energy promote nuclear energy for a better and cleaner planet in a calm and rational manner. Environmentalists for Nuclear Energy consider that environmental opposition to nuclear energy is the greatest misunderstanding and mistake of the century. If well managed, nuclear energy is a very clean energy, does not reject polluting gases in the atmosphere, uses very few construction materials (per kWh) compared to solar & wind energy, produces very little waste (almost totally confined), and does not contribute to the greenhouse effect (no carbon dioxide). For EFN, true environmentalists should therefore be in favor of nuclear energy. EFN works at informing the public of the environmental benefits of nuclear energy, the cleanest energy resource massively available."
