Quote:
"We have signed and ratified the CFE and are fully implementing it. We have pulled out all our heavy weapons from the European part of Russia to behind the Ural Mountains and cut our military by 300,000 men," Putin said.

"And what about our partners? They are filling Eastern Europe with new weapons. A new base in Bulgaria, another one in Romania, a (missile defense) site in Poland and a radar in the Czech Republic," he said. "What we are supposed to do? We can't just sit back and look at that."

And conservatives across the world are discretely hiding their erections over the prospect of the Cold War returning...

Idiot. Yes, you.

If any one of the hundreds of rogue groups vying for a nuclear weapon/missile could get one, where would it be aimed? Do you think Russia can contain the thousands of nuclear warheads the U.S.S.R. had? Might you think Putin is spouting rhetoric for the masses? Do you think that the U.S. is the only country that spews crap in order to maintain favor?

Vinegar and water in a satchel, you are.

Putin continues to become more and more unstable. This is not saying Dubbya isn't unstable... Putin in looking to rally the troops and stir some solidarity amongst his people. The US, when the missle defense shield is fully operable, would use this technology to protect Russia against missile attack as it would any nation around the world.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Infact before even opening this thread I knew the what the responses would be.

A thread about Putin. A man who

1. imprisons people whose businesses he wants to take
2. poisons people who are critical of him
3. froths at the mouth like a rabid dog when an independent country moves a statue to a cemetary. What would happen if Estonia did what they SHOULD have done and melted the thing down? This time all he did was insult them and launch a huge DOS attack on Estonia's internet infrastructure. All for moving a statue that commemorated the Soviet soldier: A rabid, dirty, unwashed babraric animal that brought death, rape, plunder and 60 years of bondage to Estonia and half of Europe.
4. Uses gas to meddle in internal affairs of independent nations
5. Openly threatens Poland and the Czech Republic

So here is Putin, spouting crap from his KGB mouth yet again and instead of dealing with the subject at hand we get off-topic snide remarks about Bush.

Sounds familiar doesn't it?? I'd say these Soviet-ist tactics being used by Putin only make his rule stronger, not unstable.....
Russia still has the largest nuclear deterrent on earth (about double the U.S.) and it sounds like Putin wants to put the Mother Country back on the map again wth all this recent posturing...
