By using adjectives as verbs.

Now, we all know that China is not the only country with a "correct English on public display" problem. It's just that Korea is not currently due to host an Olympics.

Anybody have other examples of this kind of thing to show and tell?

The internet cafe near my apartment has a game called Starcraft Brood War.

I wonder what this game is about? A bunch of heroes brooding over the problems of the world? Smile

Hey Dev, please tell me you were joking.

Anyway, yeah that site's home-p is a prime example of where a Korean company should've had the wherewithal to send someone out on the street and ask an Englisher if what they've written makes sense. All these college kids out there stopping us in Insadong every day, you'd think someone would get a clue, right?

Check out this photo from the web site:

Looks like a fairly typical Korean home to me.. hey, anyone wanna go boil alive in that cozy, a/c-free reading room? ouch..

I always crack up at these images Korean companies display in their marketing. Next up: Seven million identical apartments surrounded by lush greenery and, of course, families with two children, one boy, one girl.

On the contrary. It's simple marketing. Sell the sizzle, not the sausagee!

That little bit of tweaking in the corporate message delivery system makes me wonder if Korean firms shouldn't be as eager as hagwons to put English speakers on staff.
