Do you need a visa for Australia if you are staying less than a month? (If it applies, I have a US passport). |

You will need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority). In most cases your travel agent will get it for you and add it the price of your ticket. If you aren't using an agent, you can check ou the details here:

no, automatic 3 months tourist visa upon arrival I'm pretty sure. may even be a six month option?
can even be extended without leaving the country if memory serves.
for a work visa you may need a chest x-ray because of korea's status vis-a-vie TB. |

You may not be able to even board the plane if you haven't applied for an ETA beforehand.
It doesn't take long to apply online or cost much... |
