..... by super good, I hope you mean 3 hours a day
If you accept less than 2.3 & housing you are selling yourself short....
The exception is after-school programs, 2.3 w/o housing is not bad for those if you get a Korean teacher (but why you'd want one I don't know, more trouble than they're worth)... Minimum 2.3 & housing w/o Korean teacher...
Koreans will try to get you for as low as they can, but a BA is worth 2.3 and a MA is worth 2.6(or more).... Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.... |

There is no average....that's one thing that sucks about korea teaching jobs....experienced or none.....same pay 99% of the time. I say the experienced teachers are short a full load if they sign on at a school offering the same pay to a newbie. And most do. |

I know a few people here in Cheonan who are working for under 2.0 which just seems crazy to me.
I'd say anything under 2.2 isn't worth a second look these days unless you get some other perk like more vacation, free lunch and dinner, short days, Friday off, a 2 bedroom apt, etc. |

So, question: given that the vast majority of job ads on Daves point to a 1.9 to 2.1 million won salary for beginners, does that mean that this site is coincidentally chock full of low-paying job opportunities? Or is it common to advertise this low, with it being expected that once a person has applied he/she will haggle their salary up to at least 2.2 million? |

A bit of both. The crappier the job the more you need to advertise to fill it. Better jobs get filled more through word of mouth. |

Again.......it has been posted many a time and it's a known fact.....there is no beginners salary in korea.....experienced or newbies....same pay 99% of the time. One needs to network and make connections. |

Ask for 2.4 and settle for 2.2 or 2.3. |
