|
|
Well, I had my account suspended last night. This is the second time WOW has suspended my account. They use such vague terminology: "against the 'essence' of the game" and abusing the game economy"?
If I had some idea of what I really did, I could avoid it in the future. I'm wondering if it's because I'm playing from Asia. Has anyone else been banned? |

What were your in-game conversations like. Were they related to the game, or were you having real life conversations, like "hey man, I am an english teacher in korea" etc....
The website states that they have strict rules about staying in character when online, silly i know, but the description you gave sounds like that could've been the reason.
You should try a private server, they are a lot of fun and free. Currently I play on www.hswow.net Check it out while you're waiting to be reinstated. |

| I started playing in January. After the first day of playing, I was suspended. I accidentally had my credit card address updated to Korea, but I wasn't paying attention and typed in my old address. I had to explain the problem in an email; then I had to wait for their response; then I had to go to three different PC bangs because some of them didn't have a printer. I had to fill out a form and fax it to Blizzard. It took a few days to get my account back, but it was a royal pain in the butt. |

What the hell are you talking about? You don't get suspended from WoW, even on an RPG server (which are uncommon) for speaking in real life terms. Stop promoting your lame assed private server. Cheater. |

WoW is very vague about suspensions. Did you buy Gold from any websites? have you transferred large amounts of Gold from your character to someone else or vice versa?
Abusing the game economy usually means buying/selling gold. Even if you didn't buy/sell gold, ifyou've transferred a lot of gold to someone else (ie Guild bank, other guildies, other players) then you could be flagged and then suspended on suspicion of Gold selling. If you add on top of that you are logging in from a Korean IP, Blizzard just assumes.
BTW, Warden (Blizzards detection system) is pretty f-ed up. It will scan everything in your RAM and in your processes. By clicking on the TOS, you essentially give away all your privacy rights to Blizzard while you ar eplaying the game. |

Maybe you should actually read the rules on the website before you make lame comments like that.

Out of Character (OOC) Discussion and Use of General Chat
Detailed below is the language policy enforced on the Role-Play servers. Use of the /ignore command is also highly encouraged.
* The General Chat Channel should only be used for finding Storylines (SLs), finding Party Groups, and various other discussions pertaining to the Base Storyline (BSL), game-related topics, and continuity.
* The General Chat Channel should NOT be used for any "Off-topic," Non-Storyline, or non game-related discussions.
* Absolutely no out of character (OOC) or non-fantasy related dialogue should take place in the /Say, /Yell, or Party chat channels.
* Guild Chat will not be policed for any fantasy related violations.
* All normal harassment rules (which can be found at http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01719p) still apply.
Examples of appropriate conversation in the General Chat Channel:
* "Would anyone like to join a Rogue Specific SL?"
* "What happened to the Well of Eternity?"
Examples of inappropriate conversation in the General Chat Channel:
* "Did you see that new movie?"
* "My sister just bought a new car."
If a player is found violating any of these rules, he/she may:
* Be given a warning. |

I'm not trying to promote my own private server, I have nothing to do with that server, I merely play on it sometimes. I was only trying to make a helpful suggestion. |

I've been playing here for almost a year without problems. Also played two years ago when I was studying abroad, again no problems.
And everyone says random crap in /1. It's just the way the game is |

haha score for me again~~ (and you--very attentive!)
I've gotten bored of EQ, mostly because I've been in the US the past two months and nobody's computer is good enough to 3-box, or even 2 or 1. EQ is massively boring 1-boxing. My friend got me on the WoW 10-day trial. I did it once til it ran out (Tauren Druid), and now trying it again (Night Elf Hunter). It's a cool game. I'm very skeptical of it, still.
Anyway, battle on, fellow MMORPGers! |

| Warhammer Online looks very promising. I may have to check that out. So does Age of Conan. |

Again, you're quoting the rules for roleplayservers, whichare by far the minority of servers. Most likely the OP isn't on one of them.
Qinella, think Bronzebeard server
You know what silly thing I did? Complete install of EQ1 again, all expansions beginning from the 500kb installer only. helluva lot of downloading, just to run around in old zones like I have usually done for the past 2 years. |
