Has anyone done this? Do you know where I might purchase one?
I've considered repairing my old Toshiba but am worried that the motherboard might get fried on it once I go to the trouble.
The ThinkPad series appears pretty rock solid with a loyal user community... so I figure I'll never be at a loss for parts and/or advice.
( Are laptops with metal cases prone to surges that fry motherboards? Is it possibly some kind of grounding issue? ) |

Hey... I'm in the process of buying about 7 laptops from my old university. 5 are going to my hagwon, 1 for me, and 1 for a friend.
Haven't worked out the exact price yet, around 250$. 1.7ish GHZ, 512ram, 20gb HD, CDRW, wireless card.
If you're interested I could get another one, I'll give it to you at cost... the shipping will be paid for by my boss. |

What kind of machines are they? I'm looking for a tiny one, like 12" or so that has a good battery life and is fairly roadworthy. |
