I have been in my apt for 7 months and I have not had my water heater turned on yet. Every bath I have had has been a sponge bath made with water made hot on the stove. Seems primitive but I seem to be clean.

Dude, glad you don't stink, but are you really that hard up for money? Yeah, everyone needs to save a buck or two, but priorities, man...

You know the gas on your stove ain't free. You should get a plastic bag- you can get them free on the street, so you don't have to buy any food, which I assume you also don't do. Fill up the bag with water. Put the bag between your legs or on your stomach and put a blanket (crumpled up old newspapers will work as well) over yourself. Let it heat up to a toasty 98.6. Then give yourself a nice, truly free sponge bath with your free hot water!

Ah...the derision. I live simply so that others may simply live.

There are problems cropping up and one of the solutions to that is rationing and under rationing, you get to have baths like above. Its do-able.

The only real reason people want a long hot shower, and lets be honest here - is so that they can touch themselves. That long hot shower cover story is old news. There are many other ways to touch yourself and not harm the environment.

We all know at least one person who lives like this, with the sponge baths and the diet consisting of ramyeon and more ramyeon, but I've always wondered why you'd subject yourself to it long term?

He said 'it was not been turned on'. I wonder if he means the school is refusing to do it, or the apartment is so sub standard...
