Does he have any of these "proposed" changes in writing? Has the director given him anything in writing about pay cuts and apartment changes?
If NO, then tell your friend to get this in writing. If YES, then tell your friend to get ready to file at labor over contract violations.
Only a FOOL would accept a 25% pay cut, let alone sharing a bed with a stranger. This whole "bunk buddies" thing sounds like a nightmare, especially in these small apartments.
Why sacrifice for the owner who obviously WANTS the income from employying two teachers, but can't afford to pay and give benefits to two teachers.

Your friend is a legal teacher, right? Rolling Eyes
