 Hey all,
I was hoping someone would be able to help us. I have been unable to obtain an answer from either Korean immigration sites as well as our respective embassies.
My husband has an E2 visa which obviously allows him to work legally. I, however am having to leave the country every 3 mths because my tourist visa is only valid for 90days. I'm not working for fear of being caught  and have no plans to work. Because I'm havin' to leave the country every 3mths it's getting quite costly:roll:  . Is there a spousal visa we can apply for?

Application Eligibility
The spouse of the one with Culture/Arts(D-1), Study(D-2), General training (D-4), Press Coverage(D-5), Religious works(D-6), Intra-Company transfer (D-7), Treaty investment (D- , Treaty Trade(D-9), Professor(E-1), Foreign Language Teaching (E-2), Research (E-3), Technological Guidance (E-4), Profession (E-5), Arts/Entertainment (E-6), Specially designated Activities(E-7) or unmarried children under 20 years old of them
- Family dependency(F-3) visa for the companion of D-5 is issued only in case that the branch is already established in Korea
※ In case which the family member of the one with Non-professional employment(E-9)(including Industrial training (D-3), Employment after industrial training(E-) visit Korea for the sojourners' disease or industrial disaster, Temporary visiting(C-3) would be issued
The process to apply for visa
Applicant : the person himself/herself
The place to apply : The embassy or the consulate of the Republic of Korea
Submitted Documents : refer to the submitted documents below
- On condition that the one has already get a Certificate of Recognition of Visa Issuance or Certification No. of Visa Issuance, he/she can submit nothing but the passport, Application for Visa Issuance, a Certificate of Recognition of Visa Issuance or Certification No. of Visa Issuance)

The process to apply for a certificate of recognition of visa issuance
The Applicant : the person himself/herself or the person who invite
The place to apply : competent immigration office or branch office
Submitted Documents : refer to the submitted documents below
The one can apply for the visa to the embassy or the consulate of the Republic of Korea after he/she gets a certificate of recognition of visa issuance or certification No. of visa issuance.

Passport(the duplicate of passport in the case of applying a certificate of recognition of Visa Issuance)

documents which prove the family relations(a marriage certificate, a copy of family register or a birth certificate)
a certificate of incumbency of the inviting person and a certificate of tax payment
Fee(single visa : 30 U.S dollar, multiple visa : 50 U.S dollar)
※ There are no charges in the case of applying a certificate of recognition of visa issuance
Two color portrait shots are needed when you apply for a certificate of recognition of visa issuance
size : 3.5㎝ x 4.5㎝
the shots must be taken in 6 months.
printed photograph would not be accepted
the brighter color of background of the shots is preferred to the dark.
The Standard of inspection in visa issue
confirm the family relation with a certificate of marriage or a birth certificate
the spouse or children of the one with industrial training(D-3), Employment after industrial training(E-, Non-professional Employment(E-9), Labor Aboard(E-10) are excepted
confirm his/her financial capability to cover the expenses during the period of stay
the legitimacy of visit
the genuineness of submitted document
Overseas Koreans (F-4)
Application Eligibility
The person applicable to the law related to the entrance and departure and legal status of oversea Koreans section 2 number 2 (excluding the people who wish to engage in employment activities prescribed by section 23 number 3 such as simple labor activity)
- The one who has obtained foreign nationality who once had R.O.K nationality
- The one whose parent or grandparent has obtained foreign nationality and once had R.O.K nationality

The person that had possessed the nationality of ROK and obtained foreign nationality
- Document proving that he or she had been Korean national such as family register and certified removal from family register etc.
- Document showing the reason for gaining of foreign nationality and the date
- Documents to apologize not to be employed in the area listed in Article 23, Item 3 of the Ministerial Ordinance of Immigration Act, such as certificate of yearly tax payment and income-certifying document related to simple labor activity during stay period (limited to overseas Korean of the country noticed by the Minister of Justice due to frequent occurrence of over stay)
- Other documents accepted by the Minister of Justice to be needed
The person, whose one parent or one grandparent had possessed the nationality of ROK and, who gained foreign nationality
- Document proving that immediate ascendant was the people of ROK
- Document showing the reason for immediate ascendant�s gaining of foreign nationality and the date
- Document proving the relationship of immediate ascendant (certificate of birth etc.)
- Documents to apologize not to be employed in the area listed in Article 23, Item 3 of Enfrcement Ordinance, Immigration Law, such as certificate of yearly tax payment and income-certifying document related to simple labor activity during stay period (limited to overseas Korean of the country noticed by the Minister of Justice due to frequent occurrence of over stay)
- Other documents accepted by the Minister of Justice to be needed

Limitation of 3rd-country visa issuance
- Issuance of visa shall be prohibited when visa is applied through Korean diplomatic missions in a 3rd-country other than the nationality country
Dual nationality holder shall be the subject for visa application when the person finishes the report of renunciation of nationality
The person that lose ROK nationality caused by gaining of foreign nationality shall be the subject for visa application when the person finishes the report of loss of nationality.

Limitation of the scope of activity
The person, who belongs to overseas Koreans status (F-4) shall not be limited for his or her activity according to status unless he or she belongs to any of below-listed case; however, in case of permitted employed activity, if there is any qualification is required under domestic law, such qualification should be satisfied.
Case of simple labor work
- In the works requiring simply and common manual labor, the area for employment for simple labor workers under Korean standard of jobs classification (Notice by Korea National Statistical Office)
Case doing the action that violates good traditions or other social order, such as speculative action
- Being employment by speculative action business field listed in the provision of 1.1.1 of the Special Law on Regulation and Punishment of Violation Action and 1-2 of the Enforcement Ordinance of same law
- Working for entertainment in entertainment business listed in 21.1 of Food Sanitation Law and 7.8 of the Presidential Decree of same law
- Being employment by the business place that violates good morale or social order in the morale business listed in Article 2 of Law on the Regulation of Morale Business and Article 2 of the Presidential Decree of same law
Other cases that are considered to be limited for public profit or the order of domestic employment order
Others(G-1)
Application Eligibility
a person not with the reason of other kinds of visa, who is willing to stay more than 91 days in Korea as below
- a person who is placed under medical care
- a person who takes legal proceedings
