I have no idea what to expect, so I'll say "Modern rock":Stretching Journey
Cheez Stereo
구남과 여라이딩스텔라
Here is a map to the club:
I think the closest exit is Hapjeong exit #4 (합정 #4) which comes out near the fire station. Walk straight ahead until you come to the first set of stoplights, turn right, go up and over the hill , then down until you see the Family Mart. Make the right there and Drug/DGBD is on your right-hand side. Hate to sound cliche, but "you can't miss it." So get off your asses and out into the scene.
**edited because it is NOT Racetraitor's map... **

That ain't my map.
What is Witches anyway? A long time ago they were always referred to as ska, but I highly doubt that. |

I am told that "Witches" was a very popular band several years ago and are now making a comeback. On the Sound Day sheet, they are listed as a "punk band" so under that broad label, who knows. It would seem they are not ska, for if so, they would be listed with Kingston Rudieska and they are not. Anyway, it should be a good show for any who feel the need to listen ot live, loud music.
You coming out RT? |

We played after Galaxy Express last week at Skunk Hell. They were great.
I'm looking forward to playing with them again some time. |

You guys were late and I had to leave.
I won't be out this week, anyway. It turns out drinking and ulcers do not mix well. |

Hey, I caught you guys for a few songs at Skunk... what instrument do you play, BTW? It was a good sound but unfortunately too few people to appreciate it. Drop by Drug and say hi at the sound board. |

Hi,
Drummer. We'd actually played a set at Minor League, ran over to Skunk for another set, but it was a blast. We were @ Skunk around 7pm for a soundcheck, but it was deserted. The sound was good tho.
We're normally a 4-piece, but as our guitarist was unavailable we did it as a 3-piece, it worked out.
We've got a lot more shows coming up. Always busy...
Cheers. |

Yeah, it didn't seem like a good idea to start a Skunk show at 8:30. But seriously--the sound was good there? |

HA... that's funny. I enjoy Skunk, but not the sound there. Often I find it damagingly loud. But fun... don't get me wrong. |

I was sitting in the "DJ booth" and one foreign girl asked me if we could turn the sound down. |

Well, I honestly worry that the musicians hereabouts are deafening themselves. Hell, if I think it is loud and I am at the back of the room... I can't imagine what the fans are going through. That being said, I am 40+ and there is the, "If you think its too loud, then you're too old" philosophy. Mostly I blame drummers though. There is no need to take out all your frustrations on the kit and thereby drive everyone else to turn up and play louder.
Hey, whaddya call a guy who hangs out with a bunch of musicians?...
a drummer...
Ha ha CBinSeoul just *beep*'n withya. Hope you brave the rain and come by for a while tonight. |

Great show last night, well attended and well played... too bad you missed it.
If you are out and about in Hongdae tonight, late, drop by and see what is going on! |
