|
|
I installed Vista Ultimate on my computer and everything worked fine, including the movies and shows I download from torrent sites.
My problem is that a movie or show that plays in Media Center on the computer won't play on the XBox 360 Media Center, which is and extension of the Vista Media Center; it plays all my MP3s and shows my pictures from my computer.
Anyway, I've looked in many forums and even went to Microsoft to see if there was a solution and found nothing. The only thing I can think of is converting the video files into a proper format for Media Center on the XBox.
If anyone has a better solution, or knows of a good conversion program please let me know.
Thanks in advance as I would love to see my movies and shows on the new 32' LCD. |

XBox 360 Media center extender will only play Windows Media files. Your computer may have all the codecs to view all the movies, but your XBox 360 doesn't.
Your 360 isn't streaming the image from your PC. To put it plainly, its copying the movie to the 360, and using the 360 Media Center player to play the movie. XBox 360 doesn't have codecs like XVid, Divx, etc...etc...
As of yet, there's no good solution available. You can try TVersity, but its still in the development phase and a pain in the butt to configure. |

Just buy a normal PC monitor cable (or DVI) and hook it up into the back of your TV. If you have a desktop with only one video output, (your current monitor), you can either temporarily use your LCD as a monitor to watch things, or set up another video card with dual outputs (I can't help you there).
If you're on a laptop, or have two video outputs, once you have it set up with two monitors, right click on the desktop and select 'Properties'. Go to the 'Settings' tab on the top. Click on the monitor labeled 2, then check the box 'extend my windows desktop to this monitor'. Now, if you drag the mouse off the right side of your main monitor, it will go onto the TV screen. Drag your media player to this screen, hit full screen, and watch movies/shows/etc. there. I've been doing this for months now on a PAVV 32" LCD.
The only limitation for me is that my laptop doesn't support quite the right resolution, so it's a hair stretched out when I use Slingbox. Other media players have enough resolution options to overcome this, though. HD torrent sites put up amazing quality versions of all the shows I watch online now, so I'm happy.
**edit: I'm assuming since you said it's a new 32" LCD that it has the two inputs I mentioned, because all new models you can buy in Korea are Sony, Samsung, or LG, and I think they all have similar specs. I guess I'm not an expert on the subject, so it's possible that your TV doesn't. Anyway, I hope for your sake it does. |
