What is the best hospital to go to for the Visa/ARC card medical check? I have heard good things about the Severance Hospital. What does their standard exam include and how much won is it? I will be living in Gangnam.

Thanks very much

Korean National University is good, because of the sparkly 'foreigner department' and the cute little helpers who show you everywhere to go and skip the line with you. Pricey though...maybe 90,000 or 100,000 won? Can't totally remember, it was last year. You can for sure get it cheaper, but it was speedy and painless.

I had mine done at National Medical Centre really close to Dongdaemun Stadium subway station. It cost me about 70 000 won. The guy at the front desk was really helpful and spoke a bit of English, after that there was a lot of pointing and I was handed maps to go to various different parts of the hospital. I haven't really got any complaints about it other than it was quite 'random' experience.
Good luck!
Oh, and I just had to pop back a week later to pick up my certificate.

I can arrange the test required for your E2 visa for about 70 000 won at our hospital for people with NHI.

Send me a pm for more details.

Ummmmmm...guys, I've had medical checks done at my local 보건소 (usually next to your local Gu office) for around 7,000 won a pop for E-2 visas in 2007 and 2008.

They do blood, urine, stool work and chest x-rays. I'm pretty sure this is where most public school teachers get theirs done as well.

I have no idea why you would pay over 100,000 won for this.

Thanks! So generally there's no chart? I'm legally blind and looking for a job and was told to not mention my eyes or make it noticeable.

Sorry for the thread jack!

Miso
