http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/838273/Cooking_in_the_Danger_Zone_ep_2_South_Korea

So there's a new BBC show called cooking in the danger zone, which explores hot spots and issues around the world through...food. The first ep was on Afghanistan, and the second was on...KOREA!!! Of course, it's about the Boshingtang. It's extremely interesting, and, I thought, fair. All in all, it's really neat to watch a foreign documentary and go "Oh, oh, Moran! I've been there!" Ya know?

Also, as an aside, the shows' concept is really cool.

It was really quite interesting. I havent brought myself to eat dog, but it was great to see the history and myths surrounding the industry.

I watched that episode and was disappointed with the presenter. He presents himself as some kind of gastronomic daredevil, but he eventually pusses out on chowing down on Rover and opts for chicken instead.

Well, I think the end point *was* that we've all got our own little hypocrisies.

What I thought was funny were the Korean responses. A lot of them, like the monks and the dog-owners were like "Hell, no, I'd never eat it, that's gross...BUT IT'S A KOREAN TRADITION SO IT'S OKKKKKKKKKKKK"

Ever do this? Show children pictures, get them to generate adjectives. If you show them a picture of a dog, invariably one child says "the dog is delicious".

I'm seeding it right now. Anyone in Korea should be able to download this in less than 5 minutes.

It's a pretty good report I think. Balanced and not over-dramatic. The presenter saw the dogmarket and the dog farm and slaughterhouse. I would say he made the decision to not eat dogmeat because he wasn't convinced that an industry which is technically illegal could be regulated. Which leaves the animals open to abuse. Fair point.

Can we really trust those ajeossi's to regulate themselves to raise and kill the dogs humanely? I don't think so either. I bet there are still dogfarms out in the country where the animals are hung, beaten and killed in the traditional manner. Who will stop them?? The Korean government have decided to ignore the whole dogmeat industry so there are no rules, standards or inspections in place.

I've decided to not eat dogmeat until such a time when the industry is made fully legal and controlled tightly. If that ever happens......

Sharing some kind of computer file with other people. When you are seeding means it means you have the complete file.
