I am now in Korea on an E-2 visa, teaching. I will leave this job and come back to Korea in the fall and study Korean (part time). I am pretty sure that I can get a C-3 tourst visa for coming back to study part time. I might be able to get a C-2 short-term business visa because I own an apartment here in Seoul.
Is it possible to get an ARC with a C-3 or C-2 visa? I will have to give up this ARC when I leave this current job. Right? Then when I come back, I have no ARC. Life is much easier with an ARC, is one possible with C-3, C-2 visas?
I am going to immigration tomorrow, but I want to go armed with information ahead of time please.
Has anyone ever gotten an ARC with C3 or C2 visas.
Thanks,
Drew |

The short term visas (C3 for example) do not require or allow an ARC because they are issued for less than 90 days.
An ARC is only allowed/required if your period of sojourn is expected to be more than 90 days. The exception being Canadians with a 6 month B2 visa waiver stamp - they do not have to register even though they are here for more than 90 days.
You WILL have to give up your ARC when your E2 expires or is cancelled (when you leave your current job). |
