Does anyone else keep up with this show?
It's the best show on American TV.
I just finished episode 6 of the latest season. Every week, it never disappoints.
My personal predictions are that before it ends (I believe they will have 2 more seasons from what I've read):
Shane will be convicted or commit suicide
Cavanaugh will have some more roles to play
The new strike team leader will get killed by the Salvadorans in misplaced retribution for Guardo's murder
And in the end, Mackey will die or be incarcerated.
I don't read spoilers or blogs about the show. If anyone is more informed, make your case.
It's also time to see poster-girl's ass. |

That show does indeed rule.
A french tv channel, c+, has been airing the season six episodes twice a week, and is currently on episode nine. The season finale comes out in, oh, a couple hours, I think.
There will be one more season after this...they'd planned to end it this year but they're going to wrap it up in 2008 instead.
Yeah, poster girl's bum...well, you'll just have to download the latest episodes and see for yourself!
Love that show. I bet you're right with your predictions too.
I wonder if Dutch will strangle any more cats...he's a wierd one, is our Detetcive Holland... |

You must know French? I've seen the torrents for the episodes up to 9, but since I don't speaka da Frenchee, I've withheld from watching those episodes. I'm surprised FX is willing to release them ahead of the US. Thanks for not spoiling the upcoming drama for me. |

Je nes pas parlee Frances aussi. That is to say, in my mangled way, I don't speak french either... but it doesn't matter! They're not dubbed or subtitled or anything! The only thing vaguely froggish about it is the credits--it says 'avec michael chiklis' and 'createe par sean ryan' or something to that effect.
Download away, mon amis! You're in for a good ride. |

Yep the shield rules! Vic would kick jack bauers ass any day! I think Vic will handle Shane in the end and either be killed himself or arrested. I don't think Vic will confess or go easily so someone's gunna die. And yes the french episodes are in english so watch away! |

Not in French? Nice. On dailymotion.com, they ARE in French, so I assumed the French versions of the torrents were also dubbed in French. I'll be a happy camper when I get some time download and watch those suckers. |

been watching it 2 eps at a time, no dubbing, just the titles are in french
my money is on shane getting wacked by armenians, vic gets to keep his job because that buddy of avacedo gave him that pic of him getting a bj. vic will still investigate him as he is deep into the salvadorans
so how many more eps left 2 or 4?
Man things wrap up quickly with the Sopranos in a couple of weeks, 24 in the next 2 weeks and this.
man i'll be going through my law and order backlog this summer |

One more episode to go this season, apparently. I'm really glad they are doing another season...I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to these thugs yet. |

Best show on tv. The writers of "The Sopranos" could learn a thing or two from this show. And yeah, Shane is a dead man. |

THANK *YOU* for starting this thread!!!! i was going to start one myself... definitely the best show on tv-- 24 is both overdone and simplistic, Sopranos is just slick and annoying somehow in comparison. i'm buying this season's episodes on iTunes as they are available. it's almost too good because after each episode is over, nothing else in life seems to hold my interest as much and i totally count the days til the next one. i'm going to be so sad when it's over. btw, i'm pretty sure i heard this season was the last....?
did anyone watch the season with Glenn Close? i didn't see any of those episodes.... must have been #4.... i've seen all of 5 and before that i saw every episode up to the one where lem stuffs the $ in the furnace....
****possible SPOILER ALERT if you're not up-to-date with season 6****
as for predictions-- well, did you see "haunts"? that was last week's episode. shane told mara. i think they're going to try to leave town. but yes, there will have to be some confrontation between mackey and shane. i can't even really contemplate how that will go but it's going to be shakespeareanly riveting, no doubt..... isn't it great that claudette is the captain now? more of a central role for powerhouse CCH Pounder. mackey is going to die when he finds out she's pulling his leg about having a chance to keep his job. oh-- and so that baby really is mackey's? at first i thought, no, it's too obvious, but karin's confrontation with danielle on danielle's porch seemed to give a solid hint that he is in fact vic's.... vic has so much stress going on right now-- what's going to make him pop and what form will it exactly take? whoever plays karin is such a brilliant actress. did you know she's shawn ryan's-- the show's creator-- wife? i just re-watched the episode from season 5 where kavanaugh is interrogating her (in the barn-- after she finds out about his autistic-parent hoax but before the kitchen fondling--). the first time i saw it i couldn't really get the subtleties of her acting in that scene-- because the show makes you sympathize with mackey so much, i just kept thinking, no, please, don't give vic over to them-- but with some remove i was able to reflect on the reality of her character's position and see exactly why she would be tempted to work with kavanaugh-- to give him just a little something (in this case, about the $) about vic's questionable ways. she did a great job in that moment, it made me see what a natural she is. much more depth and moving, emotive qualities than any of the glorified starlets of hollywood, but she'll likely never get the attention she deserves. like an american emily watson in my mind.
michael chicklis has so much f'in mojo i think i would just straight up start licking his body if i ever saw him. and his mojo appeals to both men and women, i take it, men want to be like him, women are just mezmerized by him. i'm glad i'm not his wife. i went out with a guy once who was overwhelmingly sexually compelling and magnetic like that and it was impossible to deal with all the attention he got. did anyone think that forrest whittaker overacted at times in season 5? even just a little? i see what he was trying to do, and i think he didn't quite hit the nail on the head. but i couldn't take my eyes off him, no less.
holy cow-- i could go on and on. if you're really serious about this show, pm me. we can talk about it!! call me!!! or i'll call you!!!!!! long live T.S.

The Glenn Close season was really, really good. You're right, it was season 4...just re-watched it last week. As far as big name guest stars go I think she did a better job than Whittaker (who was, himself, pretty damn good).
You heard right about this being the last season, but they changed their mind, so we'll get one more next year. |

They paid Skunk Label something like $3000 just to use five seconds of a Korean song in an episode involving Koreatown. |

Re: shield--wire comparison.
I'd say the Wire is more realistic, but in being so, it's a little slower paced. Both are excellent shows; I think I've enjoyed the Shield a little bit more overall, but that might just be because it's more flamboyant and intense in its use of violence and shocking, awful subject matter.
Both shows are exceptionally well acted. The writing is probably a little better on the Wire, and the plots a bit more complex, but the Shield is (in my mind) more intense. |
