I have (yesterday). However, in your situation, I'd suggest not rocking the boat. Don't give them ammunition to fire you.

I was lucky that after being told that exams meant no lessons for 2 days and 1 lesson on the 3rd day ... but I did still need to work ... I was told after the exams finished at lunchtime on the first day that I could / should go home ... Almost all teachers did ... The next day I assumed the possibility and left when it was confirmed that the same thing would happen the next day ... So I only had to work 1/2 of those days. On the 3rd day most teachers went out in small groups to have lunch somewhere (because school lunch wasn't available on the 3 days) and then came back to school. They had a training course in the afternoon and I stayed at school but not in the course ... So I did get 2 half days out of it ... I just wished that I had known about it in advance so I could have made better use of it than I did.

slip out but don't turn off you com and come back before 4:40 and turn it off. Or, tell your supervisor that you have a business trip (you have bizz at the bank or whatever) and it will take a lot of time so you're not sure if you'll be back today.
