I'm in my late 40's, somewhat handsome, single, new to Korea, yada, yada. I can't speak the language and live in a city of just over a million people. I haven't made many adult Korean friends (yet).

It is said that the divorce rate in Korea is almost 50%, so where are all of these divorced women hanging out? I'd like to meet some, if you get my drift.

The divorced women they are speaking of have most likely returned to thier own coutries. A large percentage of divorces are between poor Korean men and women from even poorer countries who are feed bullshit to get them here.

As divorce is taboo and the parents of fresh bachelors frown upon their sons marrying a girl who has previously walked down the aisle in the past, you'll seldom hear about them. They 're-invent' themselves as being 'single and never married' and the truth gets buried in the closet of secrets.

True. Not only that, but as ex-husbands so often end up with any kids from the marriage, the charade can appear very convincing for a while.

Try a 카바레 or a 관광 나이트. Or that would be my advice if you spoke the language.

Just what I want- a PO'd Biatch who probably now hates all men because "Mr Kim" cheated on her with prostitutes, beat her, and drank all of the time. Sounds like the one for me. Rolling Eyes

Many Korean women don't reveal they're divorced, especially if they're employed. Men make assumptions about a divorced women at work. She's the company ho and is treated as such.

Indeed, and I think it's outrageously unfair. The proud and noble title of "Office Skank" is one that must be earned by merit and hard work, not handed out as candy for such inanities as being one party to a farked up marriage. The injustice of it all.

Maybe the divorced women are with the divorced men.
Another category to look into, (relatively) young widows.
I had several very young students tell me their fathers had passed.
SSS? Stress, soju, smoking?
