So a friend of mine just landed a sweet job with a major Korean corporation. Awesome pay and great benefits. Good hours too. It got me thinking (as my friend and I both have HR degrees), what the hell am I diong teaching English? I love living in Korea, but up to this point had never really given any serious thought to the possibility of working in a field outside of ESL here. Anybody here have any recommendations on good places to find English postings for jobs in Korea outside teaching?
Jaganath, please refrain from making reccomendations of me working in the gay porn industry. Or on Homo Hill. Or making gay porn on Homo hill. As much as I know you'd love to see it, it's not really my bag. |

Sounds like a good gig. What kind of work is your friend doing? |

It's all about connections. Who do you know and who knows you.
No connections = ESL teacher
Many connections = choice of jobs including teacher.
Teacher by choice - I left a company job.
I like to sing, dance and play games with kids. |

He'll be working in the HR department of a major Korea-based international corporation. He'll be dealing with overseas (English) offices, answering policy questions, English contracts, etc...
He actually didn't have any connections with the company, but applied on a whim and got the job after going through an interview. |

You are starting to sound obsessed. You know I work two doors down, so if you have an issue, come talk about it. I won't eat you. |
