BTW, Associated Press wrote that headline, not the Korean writer. At least that's how they used to work in 90% of cases.
As a newspaper's head editor I won a journalism award for Best Headline Writing in a 22-paper chain one year and the one they singled out to profile with the announcement wasn't even one of my best, but must've tickled the judges' fancy. Informative, eye-catching and funny are the best headlines.
Ideally "Skywalker crosses Han solo" would have been bolded with the cutline of a photo of a contestant. The pluralized 'skywalkers' and Korea reference may be necessary for a main head but it interfers with the aesthetics. Still, a wonderful effort. |
