The top 6 right now are Clinton, Edwards, Obama, Giuliani, McCain, and Romney.
Which would you like to see win? |

Far too limited, thus pointless. |

Because he's not in the top 6. The op made this quite clear. |

As the poll stands right now, Ron Paul is number 2.
The votes above:
Obama 5
Ron Paul 3
McCain 2
Romney 1
all others 0
It's that preselection bias that the media uses that helps the two big corrupt parties keep the other candidates off the ballot. It is restricted ballot access that has kept the US from having a free election since the early 20th century. |

I think the question stands: why only the top six, especially this far out from the election? Makes no sense. |

Ill tell you how I wouldnt vote:
Clinton: She is simply somebody I couldnt stand in the White House. I hate verything about her: she is a liar, a politico. I liked Bill. he had charisma, he was a good leader. Hillary is not.
Edwards: Ambulance chaser. Total sleazeball.
McCain: I used to like him. Then he sold his convictions out and I lost all respect for him. I have zero respect for him as a person anymore.
Now, how would I vote?
1. Ron Paul. He is what I believe the president should be. Strong on economic sanity, on the constitution, small government. What's not to like?
2. Rudy.
3. Obama |

I have to admit, I've heard almost nothing about Ron Paul until this post.
Just looked him up, and he is quite impressive. A Texan Republican with this to say:
He said, "They attack us because we've been over there. We've been bombing Iraq for 10 years. We've been in the Middle East [for years]. I think [Ronald] Reagan was right. We don't understand the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics. Right now, we're building an embassy in Iraq that is bigger than the Vatican. We're building 14 permanent bases. What would we say here if China was doing this in our country or in the Gulf of Mexico? We would be objecting."[29]Rudy Giuliani, eager to divert the conservative audience's attention from his earlier stance on the abortion issue,[30] interpreted Paul as implying that America had justified the attacks through its actions and interrupted the proceedings to demand a retraction. Ron Paul responded, "I believe the CIA is correct when it warns us about blowback. We overthrew the Iranian government in 1953 and their taking the hostages was the reaction. This dynamic persists and we ignore it at our risk. Theyre not attacking us because were rich and free, theyre attacking us because were over there."
Also, according to the Wikipedia article, he is winning a lot of these Republican debates! WOW! There is serious hope for the Republicans after all!
And a youtube clip of him: http://www.youtube.com/RonPaul2008dotcom
I also like his speaking style.. an articulate guy speaking directly from the heart. I gotta admit I'm real impressed by this guy. |

I've been viewing Ron Paul youtube stuff the last few hours. Incredible. He's the talk of everything right now. Even FOX News is actually giving him an ear.
For the first time, conservatives and Republicans are actually discussing foreign US policy. Incredible.
I love it!
(I'll have to make a new poll soon including Ron Paul). I'm big on Obama.. but Ron Paul being taken so seriously by Republicans and addressing our miserable foreign policy is incredible to see). |
