So I'm heading to Beijing in a couple days. My budget is about 700 rmb a day. I'm staying at a hostel for 70 a night. I don't really drink that much. I don't really plan on doing tours but travelling around on my own.

Will this be enough money?

just got back three weeks ago from a vacation to beijing. that will absolutely be enough money. it was so cheap in beijing, it was great. heck, you could taxis everywhere and rickshaws and that would still be enough, the attractions are dirt cheap and the food is just as cheap. enjoy! hope you are staying at the Far East Hotel/Hostel, it was great.
