As a 6 years veteran of the Japanese teaching scene, I regularly check Japanese news. Japan Times online had this rather disturbing article regarding a, at the time of her first thong photo shoot, preteen thong model. Wow, some twisted sh--. What do you guys think? Is it ok for these young girls, even with permission from their parents, to model lingerie and pose in very suggestive/provocative poses? Personally, I am not ok with it.

If you want creepy, try watching the documentary "Living Dolls." It's about child beauty pageants. The whole thing is up on YouTube, the first part is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWcq3BUJxJY

Yeah I am all in for a collective EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I do think it is wrong to promote these girls in this type of situation.

That's just me though.

There was a woman in one of my grad classes who pushed her daughter to appear in beauty pageants. She claimed it was the daughter's idea, but the mother was VERY pushy about it. Rolling Eyes

There must be a market for it. I would worry about those who do buy it.

The mother of a girl found her daughter's photos in a hard-core porn store and wasn't bothered. That's a meaningful indictent of the whole stinking seualization-of-kids culture all around. How young is really too young to be marketed as sexy anymore? I can see where Travis Bickle went off.
