Do any of you have a D8 visa and what did you do with it?

-Also can you work as a teacher with a D8 visa as well?

The D8 visa is an investment visa so you can start a business here if your a foreigner not married to a Korean.

And, no you can teach English if you have a D8 visa, you need an E-2 for that. I don't know however (never checked), if you can have both at the same time but I highly doubt it.

If I recall correctly, you can have both D8 and E2 simultaneously, if you invest in, and run a hogwan with the D8, and then sponsor yourself for the E2.

I'm not certain, but it's quite likely that they wouldn't allow you to "freelance" teach on a D8 visa. Sure, on the side from time to time, perhaps, but not fully legitimately.

I only have an E7 but Hubby has a D8. (First, you scrape together 50 grand...)

For the first year, it was only worth 6 months at a time, and he had to demonstrate a lease on an office space, (waste of money) and contracts to demonstrate that "bidness" was going on.

Finally, after two 6 month rounds, they've given him a year. They can still call him in any time to scrutinize his books.
