Anyone know what happened from 2-2:15 today? I don't know if it was a national wide even but down here in Masan, some sirens sounded then all traffic stopped and people wearing yellow hats and armbands stood in the crosswalks, blowing whistles at anyone trying to cross.
Weird!! |

| Its air raid practice for when the North attacks. They do it every month or two at my school. |

oooookay~
I was just leaving the bank when it started and some employee came running over as I was opening the door...saying something or another. I just stared at him blankly as I had no clue what he was trying to say.
Him: "What the @&^& are you doing you stupid efing waygook? Can't you hear the sirens? The North Koreans are attacking! Stay Inside!"
Me: .................... (reaching for the door)
Him: (continues gesturing to the sky while explaining, looks slightly frustrated.)
Me: ........................ (head outside thinking he's got a problem with the way I used the ATM, didn't get my recept, or somethin)
When I looked back at him, he was just staring out the door at me. I guess your supposed to stop wherever you are and not move. |

| In my almost two years of being in Korea, that's the first time I've heard the siren... |

| Yup, that was pretty damn loud, even through my massive ear muff headphones. No one in my office even flinched. |

| I was walking to school listening to an old infected mushroom song, thinking 'they had a siren in this song?'. |

it's called 민방위, civil defense drills. i don't know how they decide when to do it, but it's always at 2:00. (got stuck standing on a crowded, overheated bus. made me even more late ) |

| Its an air raid drill and it is supposed to happen the 15th of every month. I use to hear them on a regular basis in Ilsan, back in 2002. Now, it seems to be more sporadic. |
