Hi
I got accepted into Teachers college in Ontario Canada. I have to get a criminal record check there but it also said if I have been living outside Canada for 1 year then I need a criminal record in that country.
How would I get a criminal record check in Korea?
Also is there anyway that the Ontario school board would even know I was out of the country?
Thanks

Korean Criminal Record Check

Local Requests in Korea:
Koreans and Non-Koreans should visit their nearest police station and request a Criminal History Information Record (CHIR) [Bumjoi Gyung-ryuck Jaryo Hoibo-seo; 범죄 경력 자료 회보서]. One has to bring an ID such as a passport or an alien registration card in person. Near the embassy, the Namdaemoon police station (Scientific Investigation Team tel: 02-777-0795) provides the service within a day, but the processing time could be different depending on the police station you contact. There is no fee for the service.

Overseas Requests:
Overseas applicants should request their Criminal History Information Record (CHIR: 범죄 경력 자료 회보서) through the nearest Korean Consulate General or Korean Embassy. (This is highly recommended as it is normally the fastest way to obtain the CHIR.)
